Eyehategod, les vétérans du metal sludge de la Nouvelle-Orléans, ont détaillé leur nouvel album annoncé précédemment, Une histoire de comportement nomade. L'effort de 12 chansons arrive le 12 mars et marque le premier nouvel album du groupe en sept ans.
Eyehategod a également partagé le premier single de l'album, le «High Risk Trigger» politiquement chargé. Alors que le chanteur Mike IX Williams dit que le groupe aborde rarement la politique, la chanson aborde le sujet de la brutalité policière. Le reste de l'album a également des connotations de la perturbation socio-politique qui prévaut dans l'Amérique moderne.
"Nous ne sommes pas un groupe politique, mais il était difficile de ne pas être affecté par les nouvelles de l'année écoulée", a déclaré Williams dans un communiqué de presse. «Au cours de cet enregistrement, j’ai beaucoup réfléchi à la stupidité de l’humanité et à la façon dont l’Amérique est maintenant complètement divisée avec ces gens qui ne croient pas en la science et suivent aveuglément les menteurs et les idéologies absurdes. Certains de ces sentiments ont peut-être trouvé leur chemin dans ces chansons, mais ils sont surtout subliminaux. »
«High Risk Trigger» place la barre haute pour le reste du nouvel album. Avec la brutalité swingante qu'Eyehategod a maîtrisée au cours d'une carrière sauvage de plus de 30 ans, la chanson est un retour digne d'un groupe qui a fait de la cohérence écrasante sa marque de fabrique.
Le titre de l'album fait allusion à la tournée incessante pour laquelle le groupe est connu. Eyehategod était sur la route pendant trois ans avant l'enregistrement Comportement nomade, précédé par Williams souffrant d'insuffisance hépatique et nécessitant une transplantation. Si cela ne suffisait pas, le batteur Aaron Hill a été poignardé en marchant vers une salle lorsque le groupe était au Mexique l'année dernière. Pourtant, les pionniers des boues NOLA l'ont maintenu.
«Nous avons tourné nos culs pendant trois ans et c’est de là que vient essentiellement A History of Nomadic Behavior», a ajouté Williams. «La mort fait partie de la vie, c’est un lancer de dés. Parfois, vous prenez la vie telle qu'elle vient, d'autres fois vous vous battez pour rester en vie.
