Après avoir initialement annoncé leur nouvel album, La vérité amère, en avril, Evanescence a finalement fixé une date de sortie pour le LP. Le premier album complet du groupe de nouveau matériel en près de 10 ans arrivera le 26 mars. Avant sa sortie, Evanescence a dévoilé le quatrième single de l'album, «Yeah Right».
Bien que la date de sortie de l'album ait été longue, sans doute en raison de la pandémie, la chanteuse Amy Lee et sa compagnie ont lancé de la nouvelle musique ces derniers mois. Déjà, Evanescence a sorti trois singles de La vérité amère – «Wasted On You», «The Game Is Over» et «Use My Voice».
"Yeah Right" est un numéro de rock groovy avec une touche un peu industrielle, car Amy Lee offre une vision autocynique de l'expérience du groupe dans l'industrie de la musique.
La vérité amère est maintenant disponible en précommande au format numérique, CD et vinyle via le magasin de vente du groupe ou Amazon. Un coffret de fans de luxe en édition limitée comprend également un CD bonus, un journal, une affiche et une cassette audio exclusive de la création de La vérité amère. Toutes les précommandes comprendront des téléchargements instantanés des quatre premiers singles.
La nouvelle de la date de sortie de l'album intervient un jour avant la seule performance complète d'Evanescence de 2020, un événement diffusé en direct en première le samedi 5 décembre à 13 heures.
