En 2018, les membres de Fugazi Ian MacKaye et Joe Lally ont fait leurs débuts avec leur nouveau groupe Coriky lors d'un concert à Washington, DC. Complété par Amy Farina, l'épouse de MacKaye et co-fondatrice de The Evens, le groupe partage maintenant son premier album. Diffusez la version éponyme ci-dessous via Bandcamp.
Les caractéristiques de l'album MacKaye à la guitare, Lally à la basse et Farina à la batterie, avec les trois voix. Le trio joue une variété serrée d'alt-rock punk-ish tout au long du LP, une fusion appropriée des tenues précédentes des membres.
L'effort de 11 chansons est mis en évidence par le single "Clean Kill", qui présente des voix harmonisées. Il y a aussi «Too Many Husbands», un morceau qui présente le ricanement expressif mais accrocheur de Farina.
Le nouvel album devait initialement sortir plus tôt cette année via Dischord, mais a été repoussé en raison de la pandémie, comme MacKaye l'a expliqué dans une récente interview avec le légendaire Narduawar. Conformément à la philosophie punk de la vieille école de MacKaye, Coriky n'apparaîtra pas sur les services de streaming comme Spotify et Apple Music.
