L'année 2020 a été dévastatrice non seulement pour l'industrie de la musique, mais pour le monde entier. Alors que nous sommes encore au cœur d'une pandémie, 2021 apporte un nouvel espoir, grâce à un déploiement de vaccins et à une nouvelle administration à la Maison Blanche. La nouvelle année promet également une pléthore d'albums metal et hard rock très attendus.
Les albums dont la sortie est attendue sont une combinaison d'œuvres qui auraient fait surface en 2020 sans la pandémie COVID-19 et des albums qui avaient été prévus pour cette année, peu importe. Il est juste de dire que les albums de Mastodon, Megadeth, Evanescence, Gojira, Ministry, The Pretty Reckless et d'autres seraient tous arrivés en 2020 si ces groupes avaient pu tourner pour soutenir leurs derniers efforts.
Au lieu de cela, ces groupes rejoignent des artistes aussi remarquables que Foo Fighters, Ghost et d'autres qui sont prêts à nous honorer avec de nouveaux albums cette année. De plus, notre liste d'albums attendus comprend une sélection «pleine d'espoir» d'actes légendaires qui ont été en studio mais sans aucune garantie qu'une sortie en 2021 soit dans les cartes. Ces actes incluent Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Rammstein, Nine Inch Nails et même le puissant Metallica.
Et qui sait? On peut même voir le premier album studio original de Guns N ’Roses avec Axl Rose, Slash et Duff McKagan en 30 ans.
Tout comme l'année dernière, il n'y a aucune certitude que tous les albums suivants verront le jour en 2021, mais vous pouvez parier que la plupart d'entre eux se déchaîneront pour ouvrir les bras et ouvrir les oreilles. Why We’re Excited: Any Mike Patton project is worthy of high anticipation, and the case isn’t any different with his supergroup Tomahawk. Adding to the anticipation is the eight-year gap between their last effort, Oddfellows, and the upcoming Tonic Immobility. While Patton is the marquee name, the lineup also features guitarist Duane Denison (The Jesus Lizard), bassist Trevor Dunn (Mr. Bungle), and drummer John Stanier (Battles, ex-Helmet).
